Where we start from
Gambling costs money. Every game in our lobby is built with a house edge, which is how a casino stays in business, so over time the money flows our way rather than yours. That is not a secret and we would rather say it plainly here than have you discover it through a bad month. A session at VegasNow is something you pay for, the same way you pay for a concert ticket or a meal out. It is not a way to earn, and it is never a way to win back money that has already gone.
With that in mind, the healthiest session is one you planned before you opened the lobby: a fixed amount you are comfortable spending, a time you intend to stop, and no second thoughts about walking away when either runs out. The tools on this page are there to make that plan easier to keep than to break.
Controls on your VegasNow account
Each of these applies to your account. Ask customer care at support@vegasnow.com if you would like help setting one up.
Deposit limits
Set a ceiling on how much can be deposited into your account over a period. Once you reach it, further deposits are declined until the period resets. A limit is most useful when it is set before you play, at a level you would be relaxed about losing in full.
Cooling-off
A short break from play when you want a pause rather than a full stop. While it runs you cannot play on the account. It suits the moments when a session has run hotter than planned and you want distance before deciding anything else.
Self-exclusion
A longer closure of your VegasNow account for when you have decided gambling is not working for you. Treat it as a firm decision. Pair it with the free support services further down this page, which can help with the reasons behind the decision as well as the decision itself.
Declining bonuses
Our bonus terms allow any bonus to be declined. A bonus carries 40× wagering and a seven-day window, which encourages more play than a plain deposit would. If that does not fit your plan, play with your own deposit only.
Talking to customer care
Write to support@vegasnow.com if you want a limit, a break or an exclusion, or if you are worried about how your play is going. Requests like these are routine for our team and do not affect how your account is treated.
Keeping your account private
Use a password no one else knows, sign out on shared devices and never save card details in a browser that others use. A private account is easier to keep within limits.
Putting a number on it before you play
Limits work best when they come from a budget, not a mood. Here is one way to build that budget.
Start with what is left over
Take your monthly income and subtract rent or mortgage, bills, food, transport, savings and anything you owe. Only the money remaining after all of that is available for entertainment of any kind.
Decide gambling's share
From that entertainment money, choose a gambling figure you would not miss. If the answer is A$100 a month, that is your number, and the deposit limit on your VegasNow account should match it.
Know what a bonus asks of you
A first deposit of A$100 with the 150% welcome match adds A$150 in bonus funds. At 40× the bonus, that means A$6,000 of qualifying wagering inside seven days. If that volume of play does not fit your plan, decline the bonus.
Set a stopping time
Pick when the session ends before it starts, and set an alarm on your phone. Stopping on time is easier when the decision was made while you were calm.
Leave wins alone
If you finish ahead, consider withdrawing rather than playing on. Remember deposits must be wagered three times before related funds can be withdrawn, as set out on our withdrawals page.
Signs worth taking seriously
- You deposit more than you planned, or top up specifically to chase money you have just lost.
- Sessions stretch well past the time you meant to stop, and you lose track of the clock.
- You use money set aside for rent, bills, groceries or somebody else.
- Sleep, work, study or relationships are slipping because of time spent playing.
- You feel the need to hide how much you play or spend from people close to you.
- You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Winning feels flat, while losing feels like a debt you must clear tonight.

Help from people outside VegasNow
Gambling Help Online is a free, confidential service available around Australia. You can call 1800 858 858 or use the web chat and resources at gamblinghelponline.org.au. Counsellors there speak with people at every stage, from someone who simply wants a second opinion on their spending to someone who needs ongoing support.
Family members and friends can contact the same service. Living alongside someone whose gambling is causing harm is hard, and support exists for that situation too.
If you live in New South Wales, GambleAware NSW also offers free counselling and information. Whichever service you choose, the first conversation is usually the hardest part, and it gets easier from there.
Keeping gambling away from under-18s
We check age
VegasNow accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Date of birth is collected at registration and identity verification is completed before money is paid out.
Lock shared devices
If children use your phone, tablet or computer, do not save your password and always sign out when you finish.
Keep payment details private
Do not store card details in a browser on a shared device, and never let anyone else use a payment method linked to your account.
Use filtering software
Device-level parental controls can block gambling sites altogether and take only a few minutes to set up.
Tell us straight away
If you think a minor has used your account, email support@vegasnow.com and we will act on it. Our support page lists how to reach us.
Questions about limits and breaks
How do I set a deposit limit on my account?
Set it from your VegasNow account, or write to support@vegasnow.com and ask for one. Choose a figure that matches the entertainment budget you worked out before playing.
What is the difference between cooling-off and self-exclusion?
Cooling-off is a shorter pause when you want a break. Self-exclusion is a longer closure for when you have decided gambling is not right for you. Both stop play on your VegasNow account while they are in place.
Can I play without taking a bonus?
Yes. Our bonus terms allow you to decline bonuses. Without a bonus there is no 40× wagering requirement and no A$8 maximum bet, though the three times deposit turnover rule in our terms still applies before withdrawal.
Will asking for a limit affect my account?
No. Requests for limits, breaks or exclusions are a normal part of customer care's work and they do not change how your account is treated.
Who can I talk to outside VegasNow?
Gambling Help Online on 1800 858 858 or at gamblinghelponline.org.au, free and confidential. GambleAware NSW also offers support for people in New South Wales.
Is gambling a way to make extra money?
No. Games carry a house edge, so the long-run result favours the casino. Treat any deposit as money spent on entertainment.
